Job summary

Cleaning Technologies Group in Cincinnati is seeking a hands-on, dependable Custodian to maintain a busy industrial facility, ensuring the environment is clean, safe, organized, and ready for production.

You will work throughout the facility, maintain manufacturing and common areas, manage scrap and supplies, assist with facility needs, operate the company truck, and support with equipment and material movement for production.

Qualifications

Job description

A manufacturing facility doesn't run on machines alone. It takes people who notice what needs to be done, take ownership, solve problems, and make sure the entire operation is ready to go.

We're looking for a hands-on, dependable Custodian who takes pride in maintaining a busy industrial facility. This isn't a sit-behind-a-desk job—and it isn't simply about emptying trash cans. You'll be an essential part of keeping our shop clean, safe, organized, functional, and ready for production.

You'll work throughout the facility, maintain manufacturing and common areas, manage scrap and supplies, assist with facility needs, operate a company truck, help with equipment and material movement, prepare for company events, and supervise utility personnel.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day condition and appearance of our facility and will serve as an important resource for our manufacturing operation.

Keep the Facility Running Right

• Take ownership of the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the entire facility.
• Maintain manufacturing areas, lunch areas, restrooms, common areas, and other workspaces.
• Keep entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas free of debris and hazards.
• Maintain scrap containers throughout the plant and ensure they are handled appropriately.
• Monitor cleaning and facility supplies and coordinate replenishment through Purchasing.
• Set up and tear down spaces for meetings, company functions, and special events.

Be the Problem Solver

• Identify facility and work-process issues and determine practical solutions.
• Inspect your work to ensure it meets expectations and company standards.
• Communicate clearly with employees, supervisors, and other departments about work in progress, problems, and completed work.
• Assist other departments with facility and operational needs as required.
• Work within established procedures and the company's quality management system.
• Take on other responsibilities as needed to keep the operation moving.

Lead & Support

• Supervise and direct utility personnel performing housekeeping and facility-support duties.
• Help establish and maintain expectations for a clean, safe, and organized workplace.
• Serve as a dependable go-to resource for day-to-day facility needs.

Get Hands-On

• Operate the company truck for pickups and tow the company trailer when needed.
• Safely move materials and equipment using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Perform physically demanding work throughout an active manufacturing environment.

THIS IS A HANDS-ON JOB

You’ll be on your feet and moving throughout the facility—not sitting behind a desk.

The role requires the ability to:

• Stand for extended periods, including on concrete floors.
• Kneel, squat, stoop, climb, crawl, bend, and maneuver throughout the facility.
• Adjust visual focus as needed to safely perform job duties.
• Lift up to 70 pounds independently.
• Safely handle loads over 70 pounds with assistance from appropriate lifting equipment.

WORK WHERE THE ACTION IS

This is a traditional industrial manufacturing environment, and you'll experience the conditions that come with it:

• Seasonal temperature changes.
• Loud manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Various fumes, odors, and other conditions associated with an active shop environment.
• Required use of personal protective equipment and other safety equipment.

Safety isn't optional. You'll be expected to follow all applicable safety procedures and use the required equipment and devices for the job.

FLEXIBILITY IS PART OF THE JOB

Manufacturing doesn't always operate on a 9-to-5 schedule, so flexibility is important.

This position may require:

• Extended overtime, with workweeks potentially reaching 50–60 hours.
• Second- and/or third-shift assignments as needed.
• Schedule flexibility to support manufacturing and facility needs.
