Job summary

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates Tongue Point Job Corps Center in Astoria, OR. We seek a full-time custodian to maintain floors, clean restrooms, and keep buildings pristine in compliance with directives.

You will work 8-hour shifts, with benefits including health insurance, a 401(k), paid time off, and career development opportunities. A valid license is required; experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a custodian preferred.
• Understand basic cleaning compounds and their proper applications.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and preserve all flooring by sweeping, scrubbing, stripping, waxing and buffing.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and other areas on the center.
• Collect and dispose of all trash and debris found around the buildings and grounds.
• Keep exterior steps, entrances, landings, interior walls, ceilings, light fixtures and sidewalks clean.
• Work with cleaning agents, waxes, disinfectants and other chemicals.
• Duties may include weeding, mowing, trimming, fertilizing, reseeding, or planting.

What you will be doing:

You’ll be responsible for the completion of a wide variety of tasks and keeping assigned areas in a clean and orderly condition in compliance with government and management directives.

• Keep clean the exterior steps, entrances, landings, interior walls, ceilings, light fixtures and sidewalks.
• Work with compounds, waxes, disinfectants and other cleaning agents.

Education And Experience Requirements

• Experience as a custodian preferred.
