Job summary

Viejas Outlet Center is seeking a dependable housekeeping and maintenance team member. You will be responsible for cleaning, minor repairs, and ensuring safety across facilities and furnishings.

Expect to greet guests warmly, work with Viejas Team Members, respond quickly to issues, and help prepare spaces for events. Daily tasks include trash removal, restroom cleaning, lighting checks, and basic maintenance duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be able to respond to maintenance calls promptly.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains housekeeping and maintenance of Outlet Center facilities, equipment, and furnishings.
• cleans restrooms, parking lots, and common areas; handles trash disposal.
• Responds to trouble calls and documents incidents as appropriate.
• Assists in event setup and teardown for shows in the Show Court and Park.
• Performs minor repairs and routine maintenance; uses tools safely.

Job SummaryPerforms duties related to housekeeping and maintenance of the Outlet Center facilities, equipment, and furnishings. Duties include picking up and disposing of trash at the Center and parking lot, cleaning restrooms, and performing minor repairs. Team Members are expected to perform the description below along with interacting with all guests in a welcoming, friendly, energetic, and cheerful manner. Always greets the guest with a smile, always works collaboratively with all Viejas Team Members to develop and maintain a positive relationship in delivering an unsurpassed experience.Job Description• Maintains consistent attendance, punctuality, and appearance that contribute to a high level of team performance and guest service. • Responds in a timely manner to trouble calls such as store issues, leaks, lights, restrooms, etc. • Responds to maintenance emergencies as needed. • Documents call incidences as appropriate. • Assists in preparing the facilities for special events, including setting up and taking down chairs for shows in the Show Court and Park. • Ensures housekeeping and maintenance equipment are maintained and available for use. • Cleans blood borne pathogens and other biological spills. • Always handles cleaning chemicals as directed using proper formula for their safe use. Refrains from depositing harmful products into sewage system. • Cleans/moves furniture and washes windows occasionally. • Cleans light fixtures as required. • Picks up trash, empties trash in receptacles, and transports trash to central deposit areas. • Removes gum, spider webs, and spills throughout the Outlet Center. • Cleans directories, show card holders, and signages. • Cleans restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, counters, and floors. • Replenishes paper products as needed. • Collects and bales cardboards. • Checks and empties trash cans. • Monitors and ensures that parking lots are cleaned. • Performs minor repairs on lighting fixtures, AC, flooring, painting, signs, door handles, tightens screw and hinges. • Responds in a timely manner to trouble calls such as store issues, leaks, lights, restrooms, etc. • Documents call incidences as appropriate. • Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained. • Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines • Performs other duties as assigned. • Does not provide supervision to other team members. • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). • Valid Driver’s License Required. • Clean Driving Record Required. • Must be age 21 years of age or older. • 6 or more months of related experience and/or training. • Knowledge and proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools related to job functions. • Ability to work in a professional high-pressure environment while demonstrating and maintaining good personal relation/people skills and a positive attitude. • Ability to multitask and work well under stress. • Must be a self-starter and able to adjust to change. • Must be able to work flexible hours during the day or evening including weekends, holidays, and all blackout dates.Hiring PreferenceThe Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians is an equal opportunity employer.
