Job summary

The Dougherty County Facilities Management Department is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean, sanitary and safe environment for assigned facilities. This position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

Responsibilities include cleaning interiors, sanitizing bathrooms, restocking supplies, floor care, trash removal, and supporting polling place setups. A valid driver's license and a HS diploma or GED are required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1 year of cleaning or maintenance experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

• Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms and water fountains; restocks restroom supplies.
• Sweeps, mops, strips, waxes and buffs floors.
• Vacuums and shampoos carpets.

• Cleans up chemical spills.
• Dusts and cleans base boards, walls, and counter tops.
• Delivers, sets up, and takes down voting booths for elections.
• Changes light bulbs.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Physical Demands

• Performs medium work that involves walking, standing, stooping, jumping, dancing, stretching, or lifting all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis.
