Job summary

Fayette County Board of Commissioners is seeking a full-time custodian to perform custodial maintenance across county facilities. The role emphasizes cleanliness of restrooms, floors, doors, and common areas, with routine disinfecting and supply management.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Georgia driver's license, and the ability to perform basic math and read instructions.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and basic math ability required.
• Valid Georgia driver's license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Cleans public restrooms and replaces supplies.
• Cleans floors, doors, windows and trash areas.
• Maintains storage areas and janitors’ closets.
• Cleans and disinfects telephones and office areas.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

This is a full-time position with benefits. This position performs custodial maintenance duties.

Major duties include but are not limited to:

1. 1. Cleans public restrooms and replaces supplies.
2. 2. Cleans elevator doors.
3. 3. Empties and cleans ash trays and trash cans.
4. 4. Cleans doors and windows.
5. 5. Removes litter.
6. 6. Mops floors.
7. 7. Polishes mirrors.
8. 8. Cleans water fountains.
9. 9. Dusts furniture and wall hangings.
10. 10. Cleans base moldings.
11. 11. Cleans office and break areas.
12. 12. Cleans stairways.
13. 13. Cleans furniture.
14. 14. Cleans and disinfects telephones.
15. 15. Maintains storage area and janitors’ closets.
16. 16. Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's licenses issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
