Job summary

VGS, Inc. in Twinsburg, OH is seeking a general custodian to perform assigned cleaning duties in a commercial setting. The role is nonexempt, Monday through Friday, 6:00pm to 10:00pm, with responsibilities including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, waste disposal, and event setup as needed.

Regular attendance and a positive work attitude are required. Candidates with custodial experience are preferred, and the position may require background checks and adherence to site safety

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways, stairs and office spaces.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; empty wastebaskets and trash containers; handle recycling.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms; refill dispensers; operate power vacuums.
• Stock carts with supplies and assist with setting up facilities for meetings or events.
• Follow safety procedures and report equipment malfunctions to the Account Manager.

Location: Twinsburg EPA - 8957 Canyon Falls Twinsburg, OH 44087Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00pm - 10:00pmFLSA: NonexemptThe general custodian will be responsible for completing the following job duties:Complete assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account.Responsible for completing all tasks assigned in the specified allotted time and for ensuring a high level of quality in all tasks performed.Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.Clean, dust, and wipe furniture.Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns. Handle recycling materials.Sweeps, mops, scrubs and sanitizes bathrooms.Refill restroom dispensers.Operate a power vacuum.Must select proper chemicals, control dilution ratios and use proper techniques for the area cleaned.Follow all manufacturers recommendations for use of all cleaning solutions.Properly stock cart.Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.Follow all instructions of the Account Manager.Follow the daily job routine in the order it is outlined.Use the correct step-by-step procedures for each cleaning task.Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.Inform the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences on the job.Ensure a level of cleanliness which meets the quality expectations of the customer.Maintain all equipment, supplies, and supply rooms in an orderly fashion.Regular attendance.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a positive manner that gets along with customers, vendors, program participants, co-workers and supervisors.Responsible for following agency safety policies and maintaining a safe work environment.Must be able to pass background checks as required by site.Previous custodial experience preferred.VGS, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability & Veterans.
