Job summary

Vocational Services, Inc. in Wooster, OH is seeking a part-time General Custodian to join our team. You will perform cleaning in a commercial setting, follow safety procedures, and maintain clean common areas after the 5:00pm shift.

The role requires the ability to pass background checks and prior custodial experience is preferred; training is provided. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 5:00pm–9:00pm at 107 West Liberty Street, Wooster.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass background checks as required by site.
• Previous custodial experience preferred.
• To be eligible for hire, all application questions must be completed and the application must be signed.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned custodial responsibilities in a commercial cleaning account.
• Responsible for completing all tasks assigned in the specified allotted time and for ensuring a high level of quality in all tasks performed.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums common areas.
• Clean, dust, and wipe surfaces.
• Empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; empty and clean ash trays and cigarette urns. Handle recycling materials.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs and sanitizes bathrooms.
• Refill restroom dispensers.
• Must select proper chemicals, control dilution ratios and use proper techniques for the area cleaned.
• Follow all manufacturers recommendations for use of all cleaning solutions.
• Grounds maintenance including using a riding mower to cut grass, pick up sticks, and trash removal
• Remove snow from sidewalks and salt as necessary
• Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment.
• Inform the Account Manager of any equipment malfunctions or unusual occurrences on the job.
• Regular attendance.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a positive manner that gets along with customers, vendors, program participants, co-workers and supervisors.
