The Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a housekeeping professional for the Pacific Beach Resort's Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Recreational Lodging operation. You will provide quality cleaning services to guest areas, maintain a high standard of guest service, and support lodging operations.

Duties include vacuuming, dusting, restroom sanitation, window cleaning, linen handling, and basic maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and skill sufficient to read signs and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work safely while moving lightweight objects.
  • Must be able to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, cleaning compounds and solutions and perform minor maintenance on equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Vacuums and cleans rugs and draperies; shampoos rugs and upholstery; cleans floors using buffers and attachments.
  • Dusts, waxes and polishes office furniture; empties waste baskets and disposes of trash and recycling.
  • Cleans glass partitions, windows, walls and fixtures; may move tables, chairs for events.
  • Maintains restrooms in clean, sanitary condition and restocks supplies.
  • Cleans mirrors and water fountains; performs minor maintenance like changing light bulbs.
  • Makes beds and handles linens when assigned to living quarters; assists with related duties.

Job description

Summary This position is assigned to the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Recreational Lodging operation; Fleet Readiness (N92); Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC); Pacific Beach Resort . MWR Recreational Lodging offers accommodations to include Recreational Vehicle (RV) Parks, Vacation Rentals and Campgrounds. The purpose of this position is to provide quality and efficient housekeeping services to guests or guest areas while maintaining the highest level of customer service.

Duties

Help

  • Vacuums and cleans rugs and draperies; shampoos rungs and up holster; sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using light to heavy industrial-type equipment, adjusting and changing buffers, brushes and other attachments as needed.
  • Dusts, waxes and polishes office furniture, dusts ledges and woodwork; empties cigarette disposal cans and waste baskets, disposing of trash and recycling waste appropriately.
  • Cleans glass partitions, inside and outside windows, walls and ceiling fixtures using ladders and scaffolds. May be required to move and set up tables, chairs and other equipment as required for events.
  • Maintains restrooms in clean, orderly and sanitary condition – cleans, disinfects and deodorizes lavatories, sinks and toilet bowls, replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels and soap.
  • Cleans mirrors and water fountains and performs light maintenance such as changing light bulbs.
  • When assigned to living quarters, also makes beds, changes linens and collects soiled linen.
  • Maintains an adequate supply of cleaning materials and advises supervisor when more are needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement.
  • Inspects outside buildings within ten (10) feet.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, including occasional laborer tasks such as applying ice control material, shoveling snow, light mowing and watering lawns around assigned buildings and facilities.

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation.
  • May be exposed to dirt, dust, disagreeable odors and strong cleaning solutions.
  • Exerts moderately heavy physical effort in controlling heavy equipment, carrying and setting up and working from ladders and scaffolds.
  • Constantly standing or walking; frequently lifting or moving objects from 30 to 50 pounds.

Additional information

  • This position involves work on workdays and may involve weekends, and holidays, as well as rotating shifts, often consisting of other than normal duty hours.
