Job summary

The Circuit Court of Cook County – JTDC in Chicago, IL is seeking a Custodial Worker II to perform general custodial, building, and grounds maintenance at the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center. Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, 3 years custodial experience, United States citizenship, and being at least 21

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years previous custodial experience and knowledge of cleaning methods; institutional, correctional, or governmental experience preferred.
• United States citizenship.
• 21 years of age at the time of application submission.

Responsibilities

• Collects garbage and disposes into compactor or open container on the dock as warranted multiple times daily.
• Breaks down cardboard boxes and places materials into special containers for cardboard recycling program.
• Utilizes automated chemical dispensing units to fill bottles with chemicals for distribution to residential units.
• Ensures custodial cart and closets are stocked and cleaned daily.
• Cleans all areas according to Environmental Services Plan and Schedule.
• Assists with pickup and delivery of laundry to residential units as needed.
• Safely operates various custodial equipment.
• Reports incidents or repairs to supervisor.
• Safely uses cleaning chemicals and supplies to sanitize daily.
