Job summary

Chimes District of Columbia is seeking a dedicated custodial worker for a Monday–Friday shift from 7:00am to 2:30pm. The role involves cleaning, disinfecting restrooms, maintaining floors, windows, and common areas, and complying with contract specifications.

Applicants should have basic custodial experience and be able to lift up to 25 lbs. Excellent attendance and adherence to safety procedures are required.

Qualifications

• Six months of custodial work experience preferred.
• Custodial training desired.
• Candidates with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all Agency policies and procedures and follow contract specifications.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and washable surfaces in public areas.
• Descale showers, toilet bowls, and urinals.
• Keep restrooms supplied with required paper products and soap.
• Perform routine glass and mirror cleaning.
• Scrub tile and wash walls.
• Vacuum area rugs and carpets; sweep and mop floors.
• Pull trash and recycling and place in proper receptacles.
• Dust surfaces, polish furniture and metal, clean glass tabletops.
• Move, arrange, and lift heavy items.
• Perform emergency cleaning.
• Attend required meetings and in-service training.
• Pass and comply with all building and security requirements and procedures.
