Job summary

Elwyn in Philadelphia is seeking a Custodial Supervisor to oversee janitorial crews at contract locations, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and per contract requirements.

The role requires at least 3 years of custodial experience, supervisory ability, and the capacity to respond to emergencies; a valid driver’s license and HSPD-12 readiness are preferred for duties at federal sites.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years' experience working within the custodial field.
• Must be familiar with all custodial related duties including floor care, general office cleaning, restroom cleaning, etc.
• Prior experience working with people with disabilities preferred
• Prior supervisory experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple tasks
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated good time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated good judgment with the ability to independently solve problems and make decisions with little need for direct supervision
• Must possess good customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must be available to respond to emergency contract services such as after hour(s) or weekend(s) floods or snow removal efforts
• Obtain and maintain Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) clearance
• Must possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Assign daily tasks to staff in accordance with service requirements.
• Assign periodic services per schedule and ensure quality.
• Monitor and escort sub-contractors to verify service quality.
• Recommend disciplinary actions based on observed performance.
• Assist training of staff on procedures and on-line training requirements.
• Perform annual reviews of responsibilities with staff.
• Complete daily quality control inspections and address deficiencies.
• Complete government contractual paperwork.
• Perform janitorial duties during staff shortages.
• Supervise in manager's absence and be point of contact for the customer.
• Complete emergency work orders when needed.
• Assist with snow removal as required.
• Respond to emergency contract services after hours or weekends.
• Perform other duties as assigned
