Job summary

Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur is seeking a Housekeeping/Custodial Worker to maintain sanitation across multiple buildings, including classrooms, offices, gym and auditorium. The role includes cleaning floors, windows, restrooms and shared spaces, as well as inventory management and safety compliance.

Applicants should have at least six months of custodial experience, be able to follow written and oral instructions, and may need ASL skills.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep, mop, dust, wash, vacuum, wax, and polish floors and surfaces.

  • Collect and dispose of trash; move furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Perform sanitary inspections for infection control.
  • Order and distribute custodial supplies; maintain inventory.
  • Assist in training and continued education of lower level workers.
  • Plan, assign and supervise all housekeeping functions; inspect quarters for standards.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports; assist with budget planning.
