Job summary

Innovative Consulting & Management Services (ICMS) seeks dependable Custodial Shift Supervisors to maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards in a government facility. This on-site, full-time role requires supervising custodial staff, coordinating schedules, and delivering high-quality service to tenants.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of custodial management experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

ICMS is seeking dependable and motivated Custodial Shift Supervisors to maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced individual who can provide high-quality service and ensure tenant comfort and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate custodial employees, schedules, equipment and supplies, ensuring high-quality service and efficiency
• Organize and manage work shifts, ensuring correct staffing levels and effective schedules
• Train, evaluate, and oversee custodial personnel on proper cleaning techniques, safety standards, and use of custodial equipment
• Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures, applying appropriate safety standards
• Supervise the proper use and maintenance of custodial equipment, tools, and cleaning compounds, including manually operated tools and electrically powered machines
• Oversee a Quality Control Program, ensuring inspections, scheduling, contract compliance, corrective actions, and process improvements
• Respond to tenant complaints and coordinate corrective actions promptly.
• Prepare and maintain reports including inspection reports, and work schedules
• Oversee compliance with procedures for storage, usage, and disposal of chemicals
• Assist in special custodial projects and emergency response cleanups as required
• Ensure the security of buildings by supervising lock/unlock procedures
• Assist in managing budgets, tracking expenses, and recommending cost-saving measures
• Maintain inventory records of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment
• Manage and distribute work orders while confirming data within the client CMMS
• Ensure compliance with proper chemical handling, application, and disposal methods.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of recent (within the past 5 years) experience in managing custodial or services, in commercial or government settings.
• Ability to gain and maintain a current certification in Advanced Custodial Technician from the Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively lead custodial teams
• Knowledge of proper custodial procedures for using and maintaining cleaning tools, machines, and chemical solutions
• Familiarity with quality control programs related to custodial operations, including inspections and corrective actions
• Ability to work independently and follow specific, detailed instructions
• Capable of written and verbal communication in English.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies after hours
• Experience working in a government facility.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to climb ladders, use power tools, and perform heavy physical labor as needed
• Exposure to wet, humid conditions, chemicals, fumes, and dust
• Requires ability to walk/ stand for duration of shift
• Capable of lifting to 25lbs.
• Ability to use equipment in back-and-forth motion consistently.
• Requires consistent bending/ stooping, use of hands, and reaching above head

Security Clearance:

It is mandatory that all Contractor personnel working onsite at federal facilities meet federal government security clearance standards. Minimum investigation at a Public Trust level required.
