Job summary

California State University, Fresno seeks an Assistant Manager of Custodial Services to support the Manager in providing leadership to shift crews and oversee practical custodial operations. This Administrator I role involves data entry, personnel distribution, evaluations, and coordinating essential department functions.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least 5 years of custodial experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of supervision principles, performance evaluation, discipline and grievance procedures.
• Knowledge of custodial equipment, chemicals, and operations.
• Ability to use computer office systems and software.
• Ability to review and evaluate staff and operations and provide feedback to improve processes.
• Ability to train staff on safety and equipment operation.
• Ability to maintain a computerized records system.
• Ability to read SDS sheets.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills under pressure.
• Ability to work with diverse groups and communicate across teams.
• Plan, assign and schedule work and establish priorities.
• Ability to understand written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift custodial crews under the Manager of Custodial Services.
• Assist with data entry, personnel distribution, evaluations, and coordination of department functions.
• Support safety training and ensure safe operation of vehicles, equipment and materials.
• Coordinate with Facilities Management to plan and prioritize department tasks.
• Communicate effectively across organizational lines and support teamwork.
