Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary operational support to the Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor and assists with daily management of the department.
• Provides direct supervision, work assignments, scheduling, and daily directions to assigned custodial staff.
• Provides day-to-day departmental direction in the absence of the Custodial/Maintenance Supervisor within delegated authority.
• Monitors employee attendance, performance, productivity, and completion of assigned work.
• Uses Kronos for scheduling, timecards, missed punches, leave, attendance, and other timekeeping responsibilities.
• Uses MEP for employee performance plans, evaluations, and documentation.
• Assists with employee interviews, selection recommendations, coaching, corrective action, and disciplinary recommendations.
• Conducts departmental orientation, including cleaning procedures, equipment, chemicals, PPE, infection prevention, safety, and departmental expectations.
• Conducts routine inspections and ensures cleaning, sanitation, environmental, and safety deficiencies are corrected.
• Coordinates routine cleaning, deep cleaning, floor care, room preparation, and special projects.
• Monitors custodial supplies, equipment, inventory, and communicate needs to the Supervisor.
• Assists with environmental rounds, survey readiness, quality improvement, and corrective actions.
• Coordinates with Nursing, Infection Prevention, Safety, Maintenance, Administration, and other departments as needed.
• Performs hands-on custodial duties when needed due to staffing shortages, emergencies, or project needs.
