Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years’ experience in facilities operations or custodial services.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment and processes.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Custodial experience a plus.
• Prior supervisory experience in a service business strongly preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, a plus.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience per the JHU equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Manage custodial staff in assigned buildings.
• Maintain contact with the Manager of Custodial Services to discuss needs.
• Conduct frequent inspections to ensure services meet standards.
• Participate in the quality assurance program.
• Oversee proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Assist in developing guidelines for standards in custodial activities.
• Coordinate events and daily setup responsibilities.
• Supervise bargaining unit custodial staff.
• Assist with personnel management including interviewing, disciplining, coaching.
• Compute and document weekly employee hours; monitor attendance.
• Provide training to employees individually and in groups.
• Foster inclusiveness and morale.
