Seeking qualified applicants for a Custodial Supervisor role. This position is a full-time position at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice South Dakota Veterans Home and requires a dedication and commitment to 'Caring for America's Heroes'. The Custodial Supervisor is a key role within the Physical Plant Department and is responsible for directing the work of a team of facility workers. Incumbents both supervise and assist in the cleaning and general maintenance of the facility to maintain sanitary conditions and enhance the appearance of the buildings.
Hazards facing this role are slipping on wet floors, falling from ladders, possible back strain from lifting heavy trash and furniture, and exposure to chemicals used to clean and disinfect. Incumbents work around residents who can become hostile or violent. Responsibilities require standing, bending, and reaching for long periods of time.
This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
