Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Janitorial Manager in the United States, New York area (Victor) to lead a custodial team and oversee daily operations, safety, and service quality. You will manage staffing, training, and administrative tasks while stepping in to perform cleaning duties as needed.

The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a track record of supervising large teams. This position reports to the facilities leadership and offers competitive pay and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Five years of relevant janitorial management experience.
• Experience managing a team of 20 or more employees.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships with customers, managers, and coworkers.
• Adequate trade knowledge to estimate labor hours, materials, and visualize project requirements.
• Strong planning, organizational, and decision‑making capabilities.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Commitment to safety and the proper use of equipment and cleaning products.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support custodial team members to ensure high-quality execution of cleaning tasks.
• Evaluate team performance and provide coaching and advancement recommendations.
• Provide training and skill development for new hires and existing staff.
• Promote teamwork and maintain a positive, productive work environment.
• Oversee daily operational reporting and service updates.
• Ensure shifts are assigned and executed effectively and adapt to changing needs.
• Perform cleaning services as needed to support operations.
• Maintain safety practices and standards across the team.
• Manage scheduling, inventory, and administrative tasks.
