Job summary

Owens & Minor is hiring for a 2nd shift Custodian at our facility in Jacksonville. You will perform custodial and light maintenance duties across the site, including cleaning floors, restrooms, cafeterias, and offices.

The role requires attention to safety, basic repairs, and coordination of make-ready tasks with maintenance teams. The position emphasizes reliability, ability to work with minimal supervision, and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required or 1 year of related experience
• Experience: Warehouse: 2 years (Required)
• Forklift: 1 year (Required)

Responsibilities

• Empties trash containers.
• Cleans parking lot and truck loading areas.
• Replaces bulbs in light fixtures.
• Performs minor plumbing responsibilities.
• Cleans and lubricates overhead doors and loading dock plates.
• Operates hydraulic press used for bailing of corrugated materials.
• Performs landscaping duties including mulching, seeding, bed edging, pruning, fertilizing, mowing, planting and snow removal.
• Sweeps, vacuums, washes and waxes floors.
• Cleans and maintains cafeteria, break room, bathrooms, customer service area, lobby and general offices.
• Paints traffic markings, doors, walls, conveyors, racking, etc.
• Performs acid etching and sealing of concrete floors.
• Schedules and performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Performs work area clean-up and safety duties.
• Diagnoses and performs minor/mid maintenance repairs.
• Ensures make-ready repairs and services are completed.
• Inspects and coordinates make-ready repairs and services.
