Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking a Custodial Lead in Columbus, OH to oversee janitorial duties and guide custodial staff. You will operate cleaning equipment, track supplies, and report issues to the Custodial Supervisor.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, with certifications like CPR/First Aid preferred and a valid driver’s license possibly required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform janitorial duties and operate motorized cleaning equipment.

• Assist in scheduling and training staff; monitor PPE use and safety compliance.
• Track inventory, order supplies, and report incidents or hazards to supervisor.
• Conduct quality, service, and safety inspections and maintain daily area upkeep.

Job Description:

Job Overview

The Custodial Lead will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the areas assigned and provides some work direction to custodial staff.

Roles & Responsibilities

• - Perform janitorial duties
• - Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule
• - Provide work direction and assistance to custodians as directed by Custodial Supervisor
• - Assist Custodial Supervisor in scheduling and training staff as needed
• - Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• - Track equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair
• - Schedule clean up and repairs as needed
• - Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area
• - Track and maintain supply inventory
• - Assist Custodial Supervisor in purchasing cleaning supplies and equipment
• - Perform quality, service, and safety inspections
• - Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor
• - Report employee personnel and customer issues to supervisor
• - Monitor employees for proper use of personal protective equipment, and supplies
• - Correct at risk behavior and report to the supervisor immediately
• - Provide recommendations for corrective action on areas that need improvement

Education and/ or Experience: High school diploma / GED required. At least 1-year related experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CPR/AED/First Aid certification . A valid driver's license may be required for this position based on business needs. Employees required to drive as part of their job duties must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and meet company driving eligibility requirements. . Completed all safety and task training certification. May be required to be forklift certified

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team

Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment

Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
