JOB PURPOSE: The Custodial Staff is directly responsible for maintaining a clean and healthy environment for clients, staff, and volunteers by performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties. Keeps the shelter in clean and orderly condition.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc.)Service, clean, and supply restrooms and showersCarry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projectsPerform and document routine inspection and maintenance activitiesMix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutionsTrain shelter clients in proper upkeep and cleaning of dining area and sleeping areaNotify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairsRequisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance dutiesGather and empty trashPerform routine maintenance activitiesSanitization of heavy traffic areas throughout the dayStock and maintain supply roomsFollow all health and safety regulationsReport routine observations of residential and public areas to supervisory staff including conditions that may affect the safety and/or security of clients, residents, staff, or volunteersAssist with grounds and landscaping of facilityOther duties as assignedDemonstrate Exceptional customer service, in Everything you do, by placing the child, family, Veteran or client first to support our mission to "Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families, and their communities."ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED requiredEXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of 1 (one) year experience in a shelter setting.
