San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is seeking a Custodial Assistant to maintain cleanliness across the office, kitchen, break rooms, and bathrooms. You will stock supplies, keep Welcome Center tidy, and support facilities staff in daily operations.

Join our friendly, collaborative, and hardworking finance team, reporting to the Office & Facilities Manager.The Custodial Assistant will be responsible for the following key pieces of work: Responsible for ensuring that the office spaces, kitchen, bathroom, volunteer breakroom, and common areas meet a high standard of cleanliness and are well maintained.Who We Are:The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank’s mission is to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin counties. We work with our community to provide food for people facing hunger today while working to end the hunger of tomorrow. This fiscal year, we are serving 42,000 households per week. Visit sfmfoodbank.org to learn more.Who You Are:To excel in this position, you will need to approach the work with the following habits and values:You are a professional with a high standard of cleanliness.You are passionate about our mission to end hunger.You have excellent attention to detail, as well as strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize job responsibilities.You can work and interact well with individuals (staff and volunteers) from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment.What You Would Be Accountable for:The Custodial Assistant is accountable for the following key pieces of work:Maintain clean, sanitize, organize, and well-stock office and shared employee spaces, including office spaces and equipment, conference rooms, warehouse office, kitchen, warehouse breakroom, and office and warehouse bathrooms.Maintain appropriate inventory levels and replenish kitchen, breakroom, office, and bathroom supplies.Maintain the Welcome Center in a clean, organized, and presentable condition.Support Facilities with kitchen and breakroom amenities, uniforms, office and first aid supplies.Assist with monthly eye-wash station and fire extinguisher checks.Provide support to the Warehouse Custodian as needed.Provide Facilities support for organizational events as needed.Other duties as assigned.What You Would Be Doing Right Now:Clean and maintain office spaces and equipment, conference rooms, warehouse office, kitchen, warehouse breakroom, and office and warehouse bathrooms.Replenish kitchen, breakroom, office, and bathroom supplies.Manage dishes: load and empty the dishwasher; tidy and organize glassware, cookware, and utensils; and wash coffee carafes.Clean office and warehouse refrigerators on Fridays.Clean and maintain the Welcome Center.Assist with kitchen and breakroom amenities, uniforms, office and first aid supplies.Assist with monthly eye-wash station and fire extinguisher checks.Support the Warehouse Custodian as needed.Provide event support as needed.Inspect assigned offices, breakroom, kitchen, restrooms, and common areas daily to identify special cleaning or maintenance needs.Complete projects requiring special attention in a timely manner.Other duties as assigned.What Else You Should Know:All internal candidates must apply using their Food Bank work email within 10 business days of posting to be considered.
