Job Summary

The Department of Elementary Education within the School of Education at GGC invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Curriculum and Instruction/Elementary Education. The successful candidate will possess expertise in elementary education and will be committed to the academic success of all our students. The successful candidate will have knowledge of best practices in elementary classrooms and experience with English Language Learners and global populations. The successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities including (1) developing and teaching foundational and methods coursework in elementary education in a variety of delivery methods (e.g., hybrid, online, in-person), (2) supervising teacher candidates in field experiences, (3) participating in college and departmental committee work and professional service, (4) mentoring undergraduate students, and (5) conducting meaningful research and scholarship activities.

We seek applicants with a demonstrated commitment to preparing aspiring elementary educators to teach, advocate, and promote excellence in their classrooms. This is a non-remote, ten-month position with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2025. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in elementary education or related field; ABD may be considered if it is clear the terminal degree will be conferred prior to date of hire;
  • Minimum of three academic years of PK-12 experience in an elementary classroom

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with teaching in online environments and other modalities (e.g., online, in-person, hybrid);
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
Ability to coordinate, supervise, and mentor teacher candidates in field experiences;
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Ability to provide academic mentorship to students.

SKILLS
Demonstrate, or the potential to demonstrate, a record of high-quality teaching, service, and research;
