Job Summary

Position Description

This position is designed to play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the Honors College at the University of Texas at Dallas. The individual in this role will be responsible for providing strategic oversight and guidance for Honors, developing high-quality research/creative project experiences. In addition to focusing on Honors-specific initiatives, the position will contribute to the broader undergraduate research ecosystem at UTDallas by collaborating with faculty, staff, and external partners to expand opportunities and resources for student research across disciplines.
An ideal hire will also be involved in supporting the internationalization efforts of the Honors College by helping to shape and implement initiatives that enhance its global engagement. The teaching responsibilities associated with this position will include delivering interdisciplinary Honors Readings courses that challenge students to think critically across fields, as well as specialized instruction in Anatomy and Physiology tailored for Honors students. These teaching duties will emphasize active learning, inquiry-based approaches, and the integration of research into the classroom experience.

The appointment commences for the fall 2025 semester.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience: A PhD, MD, DDS , DC or equivalent in Physiology or a related discipline is required prior to employment. Candidates must have undergraduate teaching experience in the fields of Physiology and Anatomy. Candidates must also have administrative experience in an undergraduate setting. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, interdisciplinary and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage Honors students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

Preferred Education and Experience: Evidence of experience in faculty-led study abroad and an interest and willingness to lead such courses.
