Job summary

Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is seeking a detail-oriented Cash Operations Specialist to join the Ninth District currency processing team in Minneapolis. Reporting to the Cash Operations Supervisor, you will help ensure accuracy and compliance in daily currency handling.

The role involves operating high-speed currency processing machines, verifying shipments, and maintaining custody controls with a small team.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; college education is preferred.
Proficiency with basic mathematics is required.
Proficiency in accounting skills is preferred.
Entry level position.
Some experience in currency handling, financial services or operations environment preferred.
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Perform duties in a regulated, compliance-focused environment.
Prepare currency and coin shipments for depository institutions.
Verify incoming currency and coin shipments.
Operate and monitor high-speed currency processing machines.
Count and manage currency or coin with a 1-4 member team and balance inventory daily.
Maintain custody controls and complete supporting documentation.
Overtime required during out-of-balance or heavy volume periods.
Complete counterfeit detection training and forklift certification training.
