Job summary

The Tour Associate at the Eames Institute in Richmond, CA, is a part-time frontline role. You will lead public and private tours, support school and group visits, and assist with onsite and offsite events and programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s preferred.
• Experience in customer service, education, museums, or hospitality.
• Comfortable with public speaking and interacting with diverse groups.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Multilingual or fluent in a second language preferred.
• Knowledge of museum subjects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead guided tours for public visitors, groups and guests at Richmond and SF events.
• Welcome tour guests, check-in, restroom, water, coats.
• Provide accurate tour information and logistics.
• Greet and assist visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
• Deliver engaging presentations tailored to diverse audiences.
• Prepare retail, gallery and warehouse spaces before tours.
• Process retail transactions using Shopify; restock and tidy displays.
• Monitor inventory and update Shopify as needed.
• Assist in public programs, community events, and private functions.
• Help with event setup, registration, guest services, and cleanup.
• Collaborate with event staff; serve as event attendant when needed.
