The team member will engage customers, coordinate daily tasks, mentor peers, and assist with scheduling and training to drive store profitability and a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service and engaging with customers and peers
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Retail or customer service experience preferred
• Creative thinking and ability to influence others
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, bend and twist while handling product

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience for customers
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals
• Support training of new team members and cross-training of talent
• Assist with department scheduling to improve service, sales, and profitability
• Ensure product freshness through rotation and dating policy adherence
• Guide team in food safety standards and safe work practices
• Lead in ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and display
• Support Meijer culture and a diverse, inclusive environment
• Operate register and cash handling as needed
• Operate powered equipment where applicable
• Participate in period end inventories to help meet goals
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments
• Other duties as assigned
