Job summary

Meijer, a family‑owned retailer, is seeking a customer‑focused team member to help create a great shopping experience at the checkout and on the floor.

You will communicate with colleagues, assign daily tasks, mentor others, support scheduling, and ensure accurate stocking, pricing, and product display while upholding Meijer's standards.

You will also help foster an inclusive, safe environment and contribute to department success through training and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or customer service preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Enhance checkout experience and assist customers.
• Communicate with team and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor teammates to meet service and sales goals.
• Assist with training and cross-training.
• Support department scheduling to boost engagement and sales.
• Ensure product rotation, dating, and cleanliness.
• Maintain safety and food handling standards.
• Lead as acting department head when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
