Job summary

The City of New York's Department of Transportation seeks two Curb Management Planners to examine curb issues at the neighborhood level, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve curb efficiency in commercial and retail areas.

Duties include conducting curb management studies, reviewing curbside impacts of DOT projects, evaluating on-street parking regulations, preparing documents, reports, and presentations, and supporting data workflows and public outreach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of related community work experience or equivalent.
  • HS diploma with six years of related community work experience or equivalent.
  • Equivalent combination with at least one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Examine curb management issues at neighborhood level.
  • Review curbside impacts of DOT projects.
  • Evaluate on-street parking regulations.
  • Develop recommendations to improve curb operations.
  • Collect and analyze curb usage metrics.
  • Review technical drawings and prepare reports/presentations.
  • Present findings to management and staff.
