Job summary

The Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) seeks a dynamic College Aide to support the Office of Curb Management. You will help track curb programming, review applications, coordinate with internal units and DSNY, and assist with data collection and reporting.

Ideal candidates are college students, detail-oriented, with basic data analysis, Excel, PowerPoint, and ArcGIS familiarity. The role offers exposure to city transportation policy and curb management programs across New York City.

Qualifications

Matriculation must be maintained; employment conditioned on continuing as a student.
For Assignment Level II/III, IT-focused coursework is required or preferred.
Assignments may involve different IT project areas as determined by the Technology Steering Committee.

Responsibilities

Manage NYC DOT’s internal tracking of proposed curb programming for conflict checks in the review/approval of waste container locations.
Review applications, coordinate reviews with internal units, track internal communications and conflicts, and deliver determinations within the required timeframe.
Document and escalate issues and discrepancies with DSNY/process-level issues and with supervisor/internal DOT units.
Maintain a list of contacts and units for outreach with awareness of oversight areas.
Monitor the program’s impact through quantitative and qualitative analysis for NYC DOT programming and operations.
Consolidate key issues, updates, and opportunities for weekly check-ins with the supervisor.
Maintain program statistics to share key metrics with NYC DOT leadership.
