Job summary

AltaMed Health Services seeks a Curator to research, acquire, interpret, exhibit, and share an extensive art collection of roughly 3,000 works. The role requires a strong publication and acquisitions record.

The Curator will lead scholarly output, curate exhibitions, and contribute to the organization’s长期 mission of integrating art with community health initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in art history, museum studies or related field is required.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional curatorial work in museums, galleries, or visual art organizations.
• Experience in acquiring artworks and archival materials.
• Established record of scholarly and professional contributions.

Responsibilities

• Research, acquire, interpret and share the AltaMed Art Collection.
• Oversee exhibitions and related scholarly publications.
• Develop and maintain collections growth and stewardship.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in art history, museum studies, or related field

Master's Degree preferred

5+ years curatorial experience

Experience acquiring artworks and archival materials

Job Overview

The Curator is responsible for a variety of tasks involved in researching, acquiring, interpreting, exhibiting, and sharing the AltaMed Art Collection, which includes approximately 3,000 works of art in various media. The Curator must be an accomplished professional with a record of publications, acquisitions, and exhibitions.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in art history, museum studies, or related field required.

• Master’s Degree preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of professional curatorial work experience in museums, galleries, or visual art organizations required.

• Experience in acquiring artworks and archival materials.

• Established record of scholarly and professional contributions.

Compensation

$96,408.00 - $124,527.00 annually
