The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 5 years of cross-functional project leadership in arts or cultural institutions, plus a Project Management certification

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and execute complex, multi-year art initiatives including exhibitions and donor events.
• Build and improve operational processes and coordinate cross-functional execution.
• Manage vendors and contracts and ensure alignment with timelines and budgets.
• Serve as a communications hub for logistics and administrative functions to scale AltaMed's arts program.

Job Overview

The Project Manager for the Arts at AltaMed partners with executives, curatorial leaders, and internal/external stakeholders to plan, organize, and execute complex, multi-year art initiatives including exhibitions, conservation projects, museum development activities, art loans, acquisitions, donor engagement events, and public programming. The Project Manager is responsible for building and improving operational processes, coordinating cross-functional execution, managing vendors and contracts, and ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, timelines, and budgets. This role acts as a central hub for communications, logistics, and administrative functions that enable the Art team to scale and institutionalize a world-class arts program within AltaMed.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, arts administration, museum studies, organizational management, or related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing complex cross-functional projects or programs; experience in arts, cultural institutions, museums, exhibitions, or creative industries strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting senior leaders and advising high-visibility initiatives.
• Project Management certification required within one year of hire, with "Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification preferred."

Compensation

$78,890.24 - $98,612.80 annually

The range is subject to change.
