Job summary

Academy Museum in Los Angeles seeks an Associate Buyer to develop and execute merchandise assortments tied to exhibitions, collections, and Academy history. You will partner with the Senior Buyer on development, pricing, approvals, and product launches, coordinating with Curatorial, Marketing, and E‑Commerce teams.

You will manage vendor relationships, support inventory planning, and drive ongoing performance analyses to optimize margins and sales.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in buying and product development.
• Advanced Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables.
• Experience negotiating with vendors and licensors, including pricing and terms.
• Experience analyzing sales and inventory performance to inform decisions.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development initiatives for assigned projects and categories, aligning with exhibitions and Academy history.
• Own assortment decisions, pricing, and approvals; collaborate with Senior Buyer and VP of Global Retail.
• Coordinate with licensing partners to ensure brand alignment and approvals.
• Manage vendor relationships, purchase orders, and sample coordination; support weekly product reviews.
• Support inventory management and data integrity across categories and collections.
