Busboys and Poets is a community-focused restaurant in the DMV area seeking a Front-of-House Manager/Assistant Manager to lead daily operations, train diverse staff, and uphold culture-driven hospitality. You will supervise service, events, and scheduling while delivering exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced setting.

The role demands a strong leader who can manage floor presence, guest interactions, and team development, with a 50-hour weekly schedule and a salaried status.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of restaurant leadership in a high-volume setting.
• Proven ability to lead teams and train staff; strong communication.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong time management and flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Licenses: Food Safety, ABRA/ABC, ServSafe or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strong floor presence during peak hours.
• Engage with guests to ensure a high-quality dining experience.
• Resolve guest concerns with urgency, professionalism, and ownership.
• Oversee event setup, execution, and staff coordination with the events team.
• Lead staff meetings and coach hourly team members.
• Ensure safety, security, and emergency procedures are followed.
