South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks in Chamberlain invites applications for the GFP Intern - Cultural Resources Site Monitor. This summer internship runs May through August and supports monitoring of cultural resource sites along Missouri River lands, with documentation and field assessments.

The ideal student will have coursework in anthropology or archaeology, familiarity with GPS and ArcGIS, and the ability to work in remote areas, sometimes alone, with coordination among Wildlife

Formación

• Enrollment as a part-time or full-time student in upcoming semester.
• Coursework or field experience in anthropology/archaeology or related field.
• Background with GPS and ArcGIS would be highly beneficial.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor designated cultural resource sites along Missouri River lands.
• Compile written and photo documentation of site conditions and impacts.
• Work with Wildlife staff, private landowners, US Army Corps of Engineers, and archaeologists.
• Assist Region II staff with additional projects (signs, mowing trails, fencing, weed control).
