Job summary

Northeast Alternatives is a growing cannabis retailer/operator in Lakeville, MA. The Cultivation Technician works as part of a 30-50 person team to maintain a full-cycle, indoor Cannabis Production Facility in Lakeville, MA.

This role assists in daily operations related to growing and harvesting cannabis. The ideal candidate has cannabis cultivation experience, is motivated to learn, and capable of following SOPs, IPM strategies, and data tracking.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21+ and eligible to obtain required state cannabis agent registration.
  • Ability to make it to work on time.
  • Ability to learn new processes and technologies quickly.
  • Ability to plan ahead, trouble‑shoot, anticipate problems, and problem solve.
  • Able to follow directions and ask questions as needed.
  • Knowledge of large-scale commercial plant cultivation, including nutrient requirements, mediums, light requirements, temperature control, air flow, etc. is preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of soil and hydroponic growing methods including micronutrients, beneficial bacteria, and nutrient implementation, as well as pH, PPM, and EC counts is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement cultivation SOPs across cloning, transplanting, feeding, defoliating, topping, and waste disposal.
  • Learn and execute an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy.
  • Track environmental factors and record data for management.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area and logs.
  • Perform water, media, and solution sampling and testing.
  • Comply with HR policies and industry standards.

Job Description:

The Cultivation Technician works as part of a 30-50 person team to maintain a full‑cycle, indoor Cannabis Production Facility in Lakeville, MA. This role assists in daily operations related to growing and harvesting cannabis.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Implement our existing, robust cultivation SOPs, including cloning, transplanting, feeding, defoliating, topping, applying preventative sprays, disposing green waste, and scouting the crop/plants
  • Learn and execute a successful Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy
  • Track environmental factors and record data to provide to management
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Perform water, media, and solution sampling and testing procedures
  • Adhere to industry standards and waste disposal procedures set forth by regulatory agencies
  • Maintain accurate daily activity records and operation logs as directed using designated software
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management
  • Contribute to a fun, team‑oriented, and challenging work environment that is innovative and pioneering
  • Contribute to already‑existing operations and processes to improve work‑flow, efficiency, and provide constructive feedback and recommendations
  • Comply with all HR policies

  • Knowledge of container systems with soil and hydro, as well as understanding temperature and humidity manipulation is preferred
  • Knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options is preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, including shifts up to 10 hours
