Job summary

Campus Auxiliary Services at SUNY Geneseo is seeking a Culinary Supervisor to manage daily kitchen operations, menus, recipe testing and event staffing. You will train back-of-house staff and ensure a high-quality culinary experience across campus dining venues.

The role emphasizes leadership, food safety, portion control, and collaboration with restaurant and café teams to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; at least one year of culinary experience.
• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college/technical school preferred or equivalent experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and direction to staff and coordinate workflow within the unit.
• Coach employees, provide learning opportunities and feedback.
• Maintain food receiving, preparation, production and storage areas per regulations.
• Enforce sanitation and safety standards across kitchens and service areas.
• Ensure coverage for openings and manage staffing during absences.
• Oversee meal service to ensure quality and proper portioning.
