Campus Auxiliary Services at SUNY Geneseo is seeking an Assistant Manager to drive daily operations across dining services with a strong focus on food safety, staff supervision, and guest satisfaction. You will oversee staffing, payroll, training, and compliance while leading inventory, promotions, and service quality.

The role emphasizes teamwork, continuous improvement, and delivering high‑quality culinary experiences for students, faculty, and visitors on campus.

Qualifications

• Two‑year degree in food service, hospitality or culinary arts.
• Two years of management experience or equivalent.
• Experience in educational environment or large dining services is preferred but not required.
• ServSafe Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations, including food safety, staffing, scheduling.
• Supervise and train union and non-union staff to ensure high performance and customer satisfaction.
• Manage payroll functions, performance reviews, goal setting, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and regulations and company policies.
• Identify daily labor requirements and coverage planning based on absences and vacations.
• Lead inventory and stock control to meet quality and safety criteria.
• Collaborate with marketing to implement promotions and signage.
• Support change initiatives and communicate the organization's vision to staff.
