Job summary

The Zwilling Cooking Studio in Pleasantville, NY is seeking a dynamic Chef Instructor to lead cooking shows, classes, and events with our culinary team. You will guide guests, mentor kitchen assistants, and help create memorable experiences while promoting Zwilling products both in-studio and online.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of teaching, culinary, and catering experience, a culinary degree or equivalent, and strong customer, sales, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Teaching, Food Preparation, and Catering.
• Culinary degree or equivalent Chef de Cuisine or Sous Chef experience.
• Previous Sales experience preferred.
• Availability and flexibility to work, 3 to 4 events monthly, including evenings and weekends.
• Willing to participate in training provided by ZWILLING J.A. Henckels.
• Valid Food Handlers and/or Food Managers Certification.
• Customer-focused approach with a dedication to inspire and engage class participants.
• Superior organizational skills; must be able to manage and execute multiple tasks with accuracy.
• Demonstrated successful teaching and training experience.
• Excellent communication and customer focused skills with an affinity for cooking, a desire to learn, and a willingness to support The ZWILLING Cooking Studio concept for long-term growth.

Responsibilities

• Organization: Assist with proper daily class preparation and execution as directed by Resident Chef.
• Manage classes developed by ZWILLING J.A. Henckels.
• Instruct and oversight of kitchen assistants and porters/dish washers.
• Work with the team on cleaning and sanitizing the cooking studio and culinary kitchen after all events.
• Culinary Instructions: Teach and demonstrate cooking techniques and knife skills.
• Lead instruction for Cooking Studio events and corporate-sponsored programs.
• Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback to Kitchen Assistants.
• Utilizing strong salesmanship to promote retail sales before, during and after classes.
• Serve as an ambassador of the studio to build class participation and return business.
• Additional Requirements: Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
