Job summary

The Overlook is seeking a Culinary Stock Receiver Associate to receive and account for all goods for the Culinary Services department. You will maintain storage areas for perishable and non-perishable items, ensure food safety, and help minimize spoilage and liability while communicating deficiencies.

You will perform weekly/monthly inventories and support meal service as needed, contributing to overall quality and safety standards for residents and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Receives a volume of goods daily; ensures delivered product is accurate, wholesome, and stored with proper labels and dates.
  • Communicates product availability, quality, and location, addressing questions regarding order placement.
  • Evaluate each delivery for spoilage, damage, and accuracy of delivery to order to invoice.
  • Collect invoices in a timely and accurate manner, confirming accuracy of the product delivered and providing it to the supervisor.
  • Performs daily inventory of stock to ensure information is accurate when ordering supplies.
  • Maintains storage areas in an organized and efficient manner; ensure FIFO and safety for customers.
  • Resource person for the Culinary Services team: retrieving supplies, making deliveries, keeping staff informed of par levels.
  • Performs detailed cleaning responsibilities throughout the kitchens to maintain standards.
  • Assist with serving meals to residents as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisory staff.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Culinary Stock Receiver Associate receives and accounts for all goods, both food and non-food, for the Culinary Services department. Responsibilities include properly maintaining storage areas for organization of perishable goods, food safety, and loss prevention; accounting for the supplies; ensuring the accuracy and quality of the shipment at the time of delivery; Additional duties include performing weekly and monthly inventories.

As the first point of control in a HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) based system ensuring the safety of our food product thus the safety of our customers (residents and Team Members). This position is an essential element in maintaining our overall operational standards to ensure that our quality standards are met while preventing such things as spoilage and food borne illness. This individual decides where and how to store goods with an eye to loss prevention and minimize risks and liabilities while communicating deficiencies.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Receives a volume of goods daily; ensures that delivered product is accurate, wholesome, and received and stored to standard with proper labels and dates.
  • Communicates product availability, quality, and location, addressing questions regarding order placement.
  • Evaluate each delivery of goods for spoilage, damage, and accuracy of delivery to order to invoice.

  • Maintains storage areas in an organized and efficient manner. Ensuring the effective rotations and quality of our product (FIFO) and most importantly the safety of our customers.
  • Resource person for the Culinary Services team: retrieving supplies, making deliveries, keeping staff well informed of par levels and stock rotational needs.
  • Performs detailed cleaning responsibilities throughout the kitchens to ensure our standards are maintained.
  • Assist with serving meals to residents as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisory staff.
