Michigan State University is seeking a Gallery Culinary Platform Attendant to support our dining operations in Snyder Hall. You will prep, portion, and supply items across salad bars and hot/cold stations, while upholding food safety and excellent customer service in a fast-paced campus setting.

This role offers steady hours, a team-oriented kitchen culture, and opportunities to build foundational culinary skills while serving the MSU community daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of full-time experience in food preparation.
• Knowledge of kitchen safety practices.
• Ability to read weights and measures and weigh ingredients.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic for measurements.
• Knowledge of various methods of food preparation including sautéing, display cooking, deep frying, grilling and steaming.

Responsabilités

• Set up, replenish, and maintain salad bars, hot/cold stations, and to-order service areas.
• Support cooks by combining ingredients, measuring portions, and assembling meals to order.
• Apply proper food handling, rotation, and storage techniques to minimize waste and spoilage.
• Serve meals directly to students, staff, and guests with a friendly demeanor.
• Collaborate within a diverse team to maintain efficient dining hall operations.
