Job summary

Elliot Health System is seeking a Cook in its Food Service Production department. The role prepares and cooks meals for patients, staff, and catering events, following recipes for consistency and presentation. You will ensure sanitary practices and HACCP compliance while adapting to supply changes.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of hospital or food service experience, HS diploma/GED, and serve-safe certification is a plus. Strong communication and basic computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED strongly preferred; culinary program preferred.
• Two to four years cooking experience in hospital or room service environment preferred.
• Serve Safe certification preferred.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods for patients, employees, the public and catering events.
• Follow recipes to produce consistent menu items and ensure proper plate presentation.
• Maintain a sanitary work environment per state and federal standards.
• Adhere to HACCP standards and record temperatures as required.
• Operate and safely use department food production equipment.
