Job summary

Otterbein SeniorLife is seeking an Assistant Director of Culinary Services to oversee production across the Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, and Post-Acute areas at our Ohio campus. This role ensures high‑quality meals, proper inventory, and daily production oversight in a home‑like dining atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with ill, disabled, elderly or upset individuals.
• Must communicate in English.
• Detail oriented with strong literacy, writing and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling; in-service training experience.
• Experience supervising dining, catering or cooking in a senior living setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production for Assisted Living, Long-Term Care and Post-Acute areas.
• Oversee staff, ensure meals served hot and on time, in an attractive manner.
• Plan routine and special function menus; manage daily production.
• Maintain inventory and complete daily temperature logs and reports.
• Assist with catering events and cross-department coordination.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
