Job summary

Navy Region Southwest through its Morale, Welfare and Recreation Food and Beverage Division seeks a dedicated food service worker to assist in food preparation, service, and maintaining clean, orderly kitchen and dining areas on the base in California.

You'll set up buffets, serve meals, operate dishwashers, perform cleaning tasks, assist with inventory, and follow safety and sanitation regulations to ensure quality service for service members and community.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food handling techniques and portion control.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to maintain sanitation standards.
• Willingness to pass food service screening and training.
• Ability to learn safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up buffet lines and serving stations with hot and cold items.
• May serve food and brew coffee as required.
• Clean up and return food to the kitchen after meals.
• Operate a mechanical dishwasher and perform preventive cleaning.
• Handle heavy utensils and perform heavy-duty cleaning in food service areas.
• Assist in inventory and adhere to safety and sanitation requirements.
• Perform other related duties.
