Job summary

The Jewish Board is seeking a Culinary Services Director to provide strategic leadership for kosher, nutritionally compliant meal services across multiple residential and community programs in New York. You will lead the culinary team, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in service quality and cost management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• NYSDOH – NYC Food Handler’s Certificate.
• 3–5 years in food service operations, preferably multi-site or healthcare/residential.
• Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of Kashrut and dietary needs for diverse populations.
• Experience managing staff across locations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliant meal service across programs, ensuring menus, textures, therapeutic diets, and Kashrut adherence.
• Lead weekly dietician collaboration for menu planning and quality improvement.
• Develop culinary service protocols, workflows, and dashboards for monitoring compliance and staffing.
• Provide leadership updates on staffing, compliance, service quality, and budgets.
• Monitor QA, audits, and corrective actions to maintain audit readiness.
• Manage inventory, purchasing, and vendor relations to support budget compliance.
