Job summary

The Jasper of Meadows Place, a Sonida Senior Living community, is inviting applications for a Culinary Services Cook. This role supports a premier retirement community in Meadows Place, TX, providing nutritious meals and maintaining high dining standards.

Responsibilities include plan, prep, and serve meals for assigned shifts, supervise in part, and ensure sanitary kitchen operations. Benefits include strong health insurance options and PTO from day one.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate required by state/local requirements.
• Experience in volume meal preparation for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred; ability to read recipes and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to residents including meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; clean work areas and equipment.
• Ensure leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored properly.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
