Job summary

The Ashton on the Plaza in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Culinary Services Cook to join our dining team and deliver nutritious meals to residents with pride and hospitality.

You will support the Dining Services team, ensure timely meal service, and maintain high sanitation and quality standards in a friendly, resident-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• Experience in volume meal preparation for large groups is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves nutritious meals in a timely, sanitary manner.
• Assists Dining Services Director in maintaining an efficient department.
• Prepares meals for assigned shifts and ensures quality and service standards.
• Maintains dining room and kitchen cleanliness and safe food handling.
• Cleans work areas after preparation and service and properly stores leftovers.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
