Job summary

The Ashton on the Plaza in Kansas City, MO, seeks a dedicated Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals in a fast-paced assisted living setting. You will support the Culinary Services Director, maintain high standards of service and cleanliness, and ensure proper handling of leftovers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate required by state/local.
• Experience with volume meal preparation for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read recipes and work in a team; flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assist Culinary Services Director in maintaining Dining Services department.
• Prepare and serve meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintain standards for dining services, including meal service, customer service and cleanliness.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area and equipment.
• Ensure leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored properly.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
