The Ashton on Dorsey, a Sonida Senior Living community in Louisville, KY, is hiring a Culinary Services Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents in an assisted living and memory care setting. This role supports the Culinary Services Director and contributes to a well-organized dining operation.

Ideal candidates bring high school education, a Food Service Sanitation Certificate, and experience with large-scale meal production.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate required by state/local regulations.
• Experience in volume meal preparation for large groups is essential.
• Some supervisory experience preferred; ability to read recipes and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves meals in a timely, organized, and sanitary manner.
• Assists in maintaining an efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares meals for assigned shifts and ensures high standards of service and cleanliness.
• Maintains proper leftovers handling, labeling, dating, and storage.

Culinary Services Cook Responsibilities Include

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
