Job summary

The Jasper of Meadows Place, a Sonida Senior Living community, is seeking a Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare, and serve meals for residents in a retirement setting. You will support the Culinary Services Director and maintain high dining standards in a sanitary, timely manner.

Responsibilities include supervising prep, ensuring leftovers are stored properly, and delivering excellent patient-centered service with attention to food safety and teamwork. Training and benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate required per state/local rules.
• Experience with high-volume meal prep and serving for large groups preferred.
• Some supervision experience is a plus; ability to work in a team and adapt shifts.

• Plans, prepares, and serves meals in a timely, sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in Dining Services operations.
• Prepares meals for assigned shifts and maintains service standards.
• Ensures leftovers are properly stored, labeled, and dated.
• Maintains cleanliness of dining room and kitchen areas.
• Communicates effectively with residents and staff.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
